why did hse research use a terrible shipping method??!! Fedex said they must try 3 times before they can hold it for me to pick it up. People have to work in the day!! I really like UPS now, if you missed it, they hold it, you just go pick it up the same day.

I've never had Fedex do that to me - They let me pick it up. Also - can't you sign the sheet, leave it on your door, and tell them to leave the sub on your back porch, or with your neighbor or something?

My fedex will allow me to pick up after the first miss.I wouldn't be upset with Hsu it sounds like your fedex has some strange rules.

You can go on-line with Fedex using the door tag number or call the 1-800 number and have them hold it for you at the depot. I do it all the time. The depots are also open a little later. You can even pick the package up that evening if the driver has made it back by the time you get there.

I may misunderstand hsu. my apology if being that case. called Fedex twice. First time the customer rep insisted me waiting for 3 times and then pick it up. She is a j*k really. 2nd time a guy was nice and agreed to send a request for me to hold the package but not guaranteed they would hold it. I have to check it back tomorrow. I don't understand fedex. The guy who made this rule must be a retarded.

I have yet to attempt to pick up a Fedex package since I moved to Utah last summer, but when I lived in Minnesota I'd regularly pick up packages at the nearby Fedex depot. I just dropped by after 6:30 or so and picked up the package. Didn't even have to call to request that they hold the package. Perhaps the depot near you doesn't have a customer counter, or they've changed their rules in the last year.

first, the fed ex have rules and each driver is differnet with the rule. they can leave it if they feel it is appropriate depending on how they feel, the weather, the area, the location, etc. if you contact the fedex and tell them you wish to have it left on your door step regardless, they should be able to accomodate you with this request. if you have it left at another home, you can pick it up from there (if they are home to accept it). i called and left note on door saying to please leave across street with neighbor so i didn't have to go through what you are now. they called the driver in the morning and told him my request and also read note and took it across street for me. i picked it up that night across street when i got home. i was a bit proactive but they were kind and helped me with my request. call them and ask them to leave and leave note as well if you feel safe doing that. good luck

Fed Ex will NOT leave these subs at your door without a person there to sign because HSU has sent the package with that stipulation. Stinks if you cant be there to get it on the first day, but great for those of us who do not want our stuff swiped off our front porch. Its just a bit of protection. Like they say, err on the side of caution.

yea, i forgot that part. i dod call and leave a note and they left it across the street and banked on my neighbor not moving that day! i know him well enough and he is too lazy to move a box this size...

call them and work something out. if you don't like the person you talk to, call back and you will get someone else!
