For a good-sounding budget music system:
Buy a pair of Radio Shack (Realistic) Minimus 7 speakers off of eBay, or anywhere else ($20 to $50). Get the older ones that were made in Japan. Manufacturing location is on the back of each speaker. Skip the ones from Malaysia, etc.
Buy a "Minimus 7 upgrade kit for Optimus/Realistic classics" from 'litekeys' on eBay for $21.95. If you don't know how to do some simple soldering, then find a friend.
Buy a HSU STF-1 sub.
Cross the sub between 80 to 120Hz.
Be prepared to be amazed. REALLY!
Anybody have other suggestions on really good sounding budget systems?
