I use it for small room 2.1 channel music system. I find my listening levels not able to auto turn on (or mainly sustain) the sub being on during listening sessions.
What is the harm in leaving the sub on 24/7? If it is just a few dollars more in my electric bill that is ok with me. If it is an early demise of my beloved sub that is not ok. Any thoughts?

I don't know the technicals of how a subwoofer amps work and if its harmful or not to leave on, or if it wastes electricity unnecessarily when a signal isn't being driven to it, but I generally think it isn't a good idea to leave something on 24/7.
I would look into a switched outlet....this is what I'm using on my amp. Its essentially a surge protector with switched plugs that activate when you turn on of your devices (plugged into the 'main outlet') on. You can plug your subwoofer into the switched plug, and your receiver into the main plug....by doing this the switched outlet will only activate (and your sub will only draw power) when the receiver is on.
You can pick these up at radio shack or a similar electronics or hardware store. You might find one at your local Wal-mart or something.

This was a response to a question about the ULS-15, but I seem to recall that it is the same advice he gives for all Hsu plate amps.
