Glitch

I've had my vtf2 mk3 about a month now and couldn't be happier. My friend spent similar money on a klipsch and is green with envy over my hsu's performance and sound. I've been reading lots about isolation platforms like the subdude as a way of improving the sound of a sub/lowering it's interaction with other objects in the room. Do they also lessen the tactile feel of explosions and the like? what about spikes will they increase the feel of the lower frequencies? I have a thickly carpeted room and although the stock feet don't allow the sub to move of it's own will I was wondering if it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the stock feet with some spikes that penetrate the carpet, pad and actually contact the subflooring of the room.
thanks for any info.
