Sub positions

I'm looking for suggestions on sub placement.:confused:
I have attached a sketch of my room as currently laid out.
It sounds pretty good right now but there are always more things to try.:)
I originally had them in the corners on the back wall (one each corner) but they were canceling each other out.

Hi bzb, any chance that you can try placing the subwoofers up front?

If not, then you can leave the subs in the current position (or perhaps co-located in the back right corner of the room, as viewed from the main listening position), but I recommend leaving the door open in the front of the room if you place the subs in the back.

Good evening Pete,
I don't have as much room as pictured to the sides of the AV stand.
I may play around with the placement along the back wall. I've been reading articles on wave length ,standing waves, nulls, modes, peaks ad infinitum.
I'll let you know where I end up.

What does "leaving the door open" acheive sonic/acoustically?
I just didn't know, and somestimes I need to keep it closed (after hours) lol

Hi BZB,

Due to the relatively short distances in your room in all three dimensions, I feel that you may actually end up with a flatter response by keeping the door open. That said, with the door open, you will want to place the subs in the opposite corner to get the best deep bass impact.
