Trying to choose a sub can be a painfull experience.

I was attracted to the VTF because of its modularity and its ability to suit movies or music. I’ve got an Infinity Primus 7.1 with 360s and 150s and was going to go with their PS 12 but for 350-400 or so shipped it’s seemed to be a no-brainer to go a few bucks higher for the VTF-2.

I’ve read the STF is the VTF in max Extension mode and I’m thinking that that may be all I need and I can save $100 (I really need to do that) and its virtually the same price as the PS 12.($50 more)

I listen to more music than watch movies but I want it to perform great on both...

A few of questions…

Is Max Output better for Music and Max Extension better for Movies…or does it just mean louder or lower or is “better” or “for music” just a bad way to look at it.

At Max Extension, does the VTF go lower than the STF? What application would Max Output be for?

What exactly does “Turbo” do…I doubt if I’ll ever need it but just curious

Does anyone have any experience with Infinity’s PS 12 sub vs the STF-2? I can’t listen to either of them so any comment is appreciated. I scratched the BIC of my list because, from what I’ve read, it’s primarily a HT sub and is not “musical”…whatever that means...

My room can be totally closed and is 12x14x11. French doors on one wall two windows on another.

Thanks in advance for comments.

Actually its the new VTF-1 that compares to the older STF-2 nowadays with the extension vs output setup you described. HTH
