Is there a recommended sub woofer cable length that should not be exceeded?

Practically speaking, no. The main length issue is that the cable reaches each device.

No. Bass freq require limited bandwidth vs full range so you don't need to use an snakeoil ultra highend expensive cabling. As a rule of thumb the longer the cable the better shielding property cable you use.
This thread has some info that might help.

I recently moved my sub which required a 50' cable. I had to run it over a door opening and an arch back down and behind the sofa to get to the sub. No change in sound quality for the sub and it sounds so much better in it's new location.

50-foot cable run over archways etc...
This makes me ask the question... are there any wireless based solutions available? and if so, are there any drawbacks?

I have on order, an 8 foot Signal Cables Subwoofer cable with Bullet RCA plugs which are far better than normal RCA's. I will use this with my VTf-2MK2 sub.

From everything I have gathered, I've decided that Monoprice.com is the place to buy cable.
I need about 32-35 feet of cable to reach my Sub.
My problem... the 35 foot cable is out of stock with no ETA and I don't want to wait anymore.
So I have 2 options:
Buy the 50' cable and have a longer cable than I need.
Buy the 25' & a 12" and use an adapter to combine them.
So, what ought to be better, a longer continuous cable or properly sized joined cables?
And I'm not interested in buying the 50', cutting it down and soldering a new connection (at least, I don't think so)... We're keeping this as consumer-grade options.
Thanks!

You can get your exact size at Blue Jeans Cables (http://bluejeanscable.com/store/subwoofer/index.htm). I have bought several cables from them and have been very pleased.

I've always purchased my video cables from Monoprice and my audio cables from Blue Jeans. Excellent quality from the both of them.

First off, thanks for the reply. I checked out the Blue Jeans website. I didn't realize how much they'd customize the order -- by length and by color (though black is fine with me). I've heard great things about Blue Jeans Cables.
However...
Blue Jean cables, though not nearly as expensive as other brands, are still 300-600% more expensive than the cables at Monoprice. I realize we're talking about $6 versus $25, (or $10 v. $35) but I really believe that there will not be a difference in audio quality, as both are regarded as "very good quality"
Since I'm going to place an order with Monoprice for other odds and ends (again, Monoprice beats Blue Jeans in price everywhere), it will save me hundreds of dollars to shop at Monoprice.
I understand that cheaper prices can often indicate lesser products, but I've yet to read a single bad review about Monoprice. And I've read enough about inflated profit margins on cables to not worry about product quality in this instance.

Again, thanks for the replies, however, I'm still curious what is "better" when a 35' cable is needed:
1 single 50' cable
or
a joined 25' and a 12' cable, using a coupler.

Go for the 50'
No loss in signal from the 35', and less parts to worry about. Besides, one day you may move the sub and need those extra few feet of cable.

That's what I thought... but figured it was worth floating it by the board.
(Sometimes, we can get into trouble figuring what we *could* do)
