I intend to hook up the VT12 to a Onkyo TX SR674. The rear of the receiver includes hook ups for the front speakers(lft/rt/ctr), "surround back speakers", and "surround speakers". The "surround speakers" I assume are the right/left speakers. To which terminal would I connect the rear center speaker?

Per the the Onkyo owner's manual on page 19:
If you’re using only one surround back speaker, connect it to the left (L) SURROUND BACK SPEAKERS terminals.
No matter how many speakers you use, a powered subwoofer is recommended for a really powerful and solid
bass.
I like the second sentence, too! :D

Don't forget to connect both left terminals on the speaker with the included jumper. You need to do the same to the right terminals.
I just setup a Ventriloquist system with an Onkyo receiver on Wednesday night for a coworker. It sounds great.
