I'm shopping for a subwoofer for a new system, and I had pretty much narrowed it down to the Hsu VTF-2 Mk 3 ($470) or VTF-2 Mk 2 ($400). Now I've discovered the Aperion line, and I'm wondering if anyone has had a chance to compare directly the Aperion S-10 with either of these Hsu subs. On paper, the Hsu is the better deal, but specs only go so far. I will be using the system as much for music as for movies.
Thanks for your input/insight.

I have never heard the aperion however, I can speak about 2.3. This thing is bi polar. It's a beast when you want it to be and nimble as a gymnast of the other hand. I think it is a great. Look up my other posts and check the craig sub thread on AVS.
This sub is really nice.

I agree with prior poster. I have the 2.3 and it will do ALL that you need and more. I think it would be better for the 2.3 to be compared with the 12 than the 10 that you are looking into. I don't think you are going to find a better sub for the money than the 2.3. I am not saying this b/c I own one, I am saying this from much research, hearing it, seeing the comparisons by others. Get the 2.3, give it the proper test time and then see if you would even need another sub to test!? Good luck bro... we have been there but I will also say that we all own HSU! Others also have other subs so maybe they will post up here for you as well. Best wishes and once you hear the 16Hz tones, musicality of the 2.3 and the overall power, I don't think you will be unsatisfied.

Are you really able to get the 2.3 for $470? I'm curious because I have one on backorder for $499.....
