Well, it's here and it sounds great! Just one problem, I have no idea how to hook up the rear center speaker. The jumper wires are included but I have never used them and don't know how to properly hook them up. Any help would be welcome. Thanks
Mike

Hogues92,
What sub are you using?

I'm using a three year old powered sub that came with the SA-VE series. I will be upgrading to a Hsu sub some time next year when I have the $$$.

For 6 channel systems, you need to connect the positive speaker wire to both the top and bottom right hand posts on the rear center, and the negative wire to both the top and bottom left hand posts on the rear center.
For 5 channel systems, you run extra cable from the left rear satellite to the left and right top posts, and from the right rear to the left and right bottom posts. Make sure to maintain the correct polarity, so that wires from red color coded posts go to red color coded posts.
I know its a bit complicated.

I understand this. What i don't understand is how. As stated in the other forum the holes are too small for banana plugs and there is no diagram in the directions or on the box. The placement of the screws on the back makes it very hard to wire it the normal way (not much room). Can the speaker wire and the jumpers touch? I'm still stumped.

Hi,
Brand new to Hsu.
I see that the front speakers are wired through the center, but is there something different about the rears ? Wouldn't there just be a cable from the receiver to the center rear, just like the left and right surrounds ?
Educate me please !
Thanks,
Dan

to the one with a frown and is titled "odd size plugs . . ."
Bottom line is that there is a particular kind of banana plug that fits the holes in the back of the center-rear speakers. These plugs require soldering, not screw attachment of wires.
To wire them, you need to jumper between the two blacks and the two reds, and then connect one black and one red to the receiver. I bought two sets of the particular banana plugs. I twisted 16GA wires with my 12GA receiver wires and soldered them into one set of plugs. Then I soldered the other ends of the 16GA wires to the other set of plugs. Plug them into the speaker and it's a done-deal.

Hi Retread,
Yup, it was 2am and afterI posted I looked at the other threads.
So in plain language: The center rear has 4 plugs: 2 black and 2 red. You use them seperately if you have a 5 channel receiver and are getting the 6th channel from the 2 surrounds. You jumper them if you already have the 6th channel cable coming from your 6 channel receiver.
Do I have it correct ( without ever having seen the speakers ) ?
