Does anyone know if the new VTF-3MkII's will have a switch to turn off the auto-on feature. I noticed the STF-2 had the switch, and assume the 300w STF-3 will also. My current bookself speakers (Infinity Overtures) has the auto-on feature on it's powered sub and it's VERY distracting when the subs kick in during a movie :( . (planning to purchase Axiom M80's and using a HSU sub)

Also, does anyone have any advice on using two VTF-2 or STF-2 instead of a single VTF-3. My listening room is 24x16 with an angled ceiling from 12' to 20'.

Lastly, I read in a post last Sept about AC line noise and the sensitivity of the HSU amps producing a 'POP' whenever other electrical devices where turned on/off. A solution was offered to 'fix' the interference by add a jump wire to the amp. Are the new amps coming wired to eliminate the interference? I owned a Carver amp years ago with that very problem and finally sold the amp for that reason.

Looking forward to adding my 2 cents when I get everything set up... Thanks

A pair of VTF-2 or STF-2 subs won't equal 1 VTF-3 in output nor extension. Get the 3. :D

Can't offer any advice on your other questions...

Yes Sasha has said that all the new Bash amplifiers which are on all STF and the VTF series will have the defeat switch. Of course it was not on the current model VTF's class A/B amps. As far as the mod to fix the sensitivity (interference) on the current VTF-3 class A/B amp, it has been coming from Hsu with that upgrade for a while now. All closeout VTF-3R models would have it.

But the new amps are very different being Bash amps, so I do not know how sensitive they may or may not be. I am sure Hsu would have had the older A/B class amp problem well up on their minds when testing interference with the new Bash amps. In the other bigger Bash amps I have used (in other brands) I never had the problem, so I can not imagine the Hsu version will either.

VTF-3 Mk2 will play deeper. It will also be slightly louder over the same down to 25hz frequencies (STF-2 / VTF-2)

1) Yes, the VTF-3 MK 2 switch has three modes: ON (always on, auto-on defeated), AUTO, and OFF.

2) Popping issue is fixed. Sensitivity is turned down.

3) As Sorny and DDavidson mentioned, one VTF-3 MK 2 is more powerful than two STF-2s or VTF-2s. It also will go down to 20 Hz. The bigger sub will give you more placement options. Given all that, if you are budget concious a smaller sub can be placed in a corner near the listeners and deliver a satisfying boom as well.

Sasha, thanks for the info... placed a pre-order on the VTF-3MkII this afternoon! ;)

This there anywhere in NE Ohio(Canton-Akron) one can audition the Ventriloquest system? Working with my Dad who was looking at the Bose Acoustimass surround.
