Hi. Is it possible to order the Ventriloquist system with a rear Ventriloquist center instead of the rear satellite center?
Would this even be a good idea? I was thinking it would improve the lower mid-bass response for the rear soundstage in a home theater application.
Thanks.

It would be a good idea. Unfortunately, it will not happen this Christmas season, but is planned for next year. No specific dates are estimated yet.
I will lobby for a 5 speaker system with optional ventriloquist rear center. In fact, we do recommend a rear ventriloquist (in the manual, I believe) but do not sell it currently.

The Secrets of Home Theater review of the VT-12 also mentions the upcoming availability of a rear ventriloquist center.

Sasha, any new info regarding an ETA for this? I am currently holding out on buying this system until the rear ventriloquist center is available. Thanks.

As indicated above, the biggest difference in connecting these speakers is that you run the front satellites off of the center speaker. Remember, however, that this requires two extra lengths of speaker wire
What does the reviewer mean by that?

You wire the front 3 speakers from the receiver/amp to the center. Then, you wire the front left and front right to the center as well. Thus, it takes more cable than if you were to run the wire straight from the amp to the speakers.

I've never read the manual, nor seen or heard them in person. :D

Scottsdale/Phoenix is my favorite place on the earth.
we will be moving to Colorado in the future. My wife doesn't care for that kind of heat.
