I just joined the forum and this is my first post. After many months of consideration I have finally ordered a VTF-2 MK 3 sub. I couldn't pass up the clearance price on the walnut finish. I cannot wait to get it and put it through it's paces! I will post pics and my initial impressions a few days after it arrives. :D

Thanks Pete! I fairly certain I will love it. I can't wait until it arrives on Monday. Sure wish I could have had it to play with this weekend. Oh well, good things come to those who wait.

I am sure glad I ordered it when I did as I see the Walnut is now gone.

I have owned some pretty good subs (Definitive Technology,Velodyne, Mirage Prestige) in my time, but I think the VTF2 MK3 will probably blow them all out of the water! :D

I am a big time music lover (CDs, SACDs, DVD and Blu-Ray concerts) and like my sub to be equally as good (if not a little more so) with music as movies. My previous Mirage Prestige S10 was very very good with music, but I felt it was lacking a little low end impact and extension with movies though.

Hey Pete,

What is your personal opinion of Auralex sub risers? Do you think they make enough of a difference to be worth purchasing?

I'm sure that it has alot to do with the room (ie room acoustics, hardwood floors vs carpet, etc.).

Did I just answer my own question? Regardless I would like yours and others opinions on this as well.

Good question Rick. Some people have had good results using these to reduce vibrational energy transmitted to the floor. It won't hurt to try it, but as you had mentioned, the end results will depend to some extent on the type of flooring surface used.
