Hello all,
I usually am on the av123 forum being I own "X" product from them. I am interested in learning more about the VTF-2 MK3 sub. My theater room is 12'6" X 27' X 7'6". Would this sub be enough for my needs? I do 90% home theater 10% music. I'm on the list to get av123's mfw-15 sub which sounds like it's going to be a monster of a sub but I really don't want to wait that long if this sub compairs to that. Any help would be great and remeber I really don't know much about HSU other than a few things I've read @ AVS forum. Thanks

Thats an awful big room. Where will you place that sub: nearfield or farfield? You might be better off with a 3.3 or HO, with or without Turbo. Have you looked at craigsub's thread over a avs for ideas.

Welcome A-Rone, it's a pleasure to have you here!
Does your theater room open up into any other large areas?
A VTF-2 Mk3 does a nice job in filling rooms up to about 4500 ft^3. It looks like your room is very deep as well, so you should get great results with the VTF-2 Mk3 in the nearfield positioning for maximum impact and lowest distortion.
Sincerely,

I have done a really quick drawing of the way I currently have things set up. The sub I have right now was a Costco special it's a KLH 12" and it does a pretty good job at filling the room but it really bottoms out on the low end LFE stuff. I am really wanting a sub that will fill my space with that feeling like you got smacked in the chest repeatedly with something heavy. This sub is right in my price range, would it fill the bill with what I want?

My room is 20 X 28 X 14 and I have the 3.3 Turbo. I run my 3.3 Turbo far field and my MTX 12, Dayton 15 stacked, near field. I got the sound I want. You need the 3.3 or HO.

The area to the right of the couch needs an "end table" (that doubles as an MBM)! :) If you want max enjoyment and can afford it, I'd highly recommend setting a VTF-2 Mk3 or VTF-3 in the current sub position and an MBM right next to the couch. Oh yeah! It would knock your socks off.
For comparison purposes, I run two VTF-3 Mk2's in my 24x27x10 room, and it supplies much more than adequate bass.
