Hello,

I am very much a novice in training. I have had the fortune to adopt a nice system and would like to augment. I have a 400 W amp (sherwood 7040) and use a harmon kardon for a pre-amp (its in the shop and I don't know the model). I use 3 Klipsch KT-LCR speakers left, center, right.
I have a modest sized room 2500 cubic inches. I don't necessary need LOUD but would like a well balanced sound for mostly music but some movies as well. I have been instructed to get a sub with a frequency below 25 hz. I have been looking at your VTF mk3 model.

I am curious if that is overkill in such a small room, will a smaller model suffice. Any input is much appreciated.

Also, I get pretty intimidated with all the talk of changing crossovers and frequencies and balancing speakers....will I need to do this?

Thanks

Well in the page hsuresearch.com there are guidelines depending on your room size...
The 3.3 is very potent... maybe you just need a 2.3 at the most...

IMO, I dont think there is such a thing as overkill when talking about home theater subwoofers.

If price is not a factor the 3.3 is an excellent choice. If it is, the 2.3 should be strongly considered.

Do keep in mind that bass tends to be addictive. Once you hear good bass, often times you want more. :)
