Recently I moved into a new home and changed the location of my HT. My two Hsu VTF3 MKII subs were in a room on top of heavily padded carpet. Now they are on top of a tile floor. I have the spikes on small round floor guards to prevent scratching. I've noticed that at loud output the enclosures of the subs seem to rattle or the subs seem to be overextended. They were not reacting the same way at high volumes in my previous setup. Any ideas?

Rob, try placing a carpet throw rug underneath the subwoofer. Please let me know if that helps.

Didn't do much. How would a standard throw rug help?

The feet would be isolated from the tile floor, and the woofer would fire into the carpeted surface.

I have two VTF-3 MkII's on a laminate floor. I use the little floor protectors under the spikes, too. No problem for me. Make sure each of the spikes is adjusted so that it fits tightly to the protectors. I can imagine that tile floors aren't the most flat surfaces.
Good luck with the issue, but my guess is it's not the subs.
