Dr. Hsu recommended that I place the sub towards the rear right of my sofa.

The manual noted that the port should be at min 3" away from the wall. It also alluded to 12" (1ft) being the max distance away from the wall. Does this apply to both corner walls or just the wall directly behind the rear port?

In most cases, it should be within a foot of as many walls as possible for the "loading" effect to provide the more powerfull deep bass. One wall is fine, two is better--in general. This usually provides more even frequency response, not just more bass.

Ahh, even frequency -- that makes sense. Thank you for the expedite response.

BTW, I owned a Monitor Audio ASW 110 for ~ 4yrs. I never knew what a good sub was until the recent STF-2 purchase!

Thank you again.
