The VTF-2 MK3 seems to be largely ignorred on this & other forums. I just ordered one and would like to hear the impressions of other users of this model. Is it enough?

I haven't really noticed that as being true. It seems to me that is probably the best buy in a sub today and its been highly rated and recommended in forums. Try a search at AVS and see what comes up.

I've got one and I still can't believe how much bang for the buck I get from it.

JPAD, I do agree with you to some extent. Even though the -3 Mk3 gets talked about more, the VTF-2 Mk3 is a ridiculously good bargain at $499, no doubt about it.

I bought my VTF2.3 back in April(thanks uncle Sam  ). I don't think anyone can answer your question without a little more info. Room size? desired volume? HT vs Music? I am very happy with mine. I have a Pioneer VSX-816 w/100 wpc and classic Polk speakers all around. I listen at moderately high levels when I can- no dedicated HT room makes it difficult sometimes. The sub blends flawlessly with my Polk Mon 10's & surrounds. I used the auto setup feature of the receiver with it's mic, & adjusted the crossover downward a little.
I have an 11 x 20 room with vaulted ceiling 8- 10 feet high. 11x20x9= 1980 cu feet. The volume & quality of sound from the VTF2.3 is GREAT! I have it set at about 11 O'clock with lots of headroom. On movies with good bass, the room comes to life. I believe I made the right choice & highly recommend it. For $500 there aren't many other choices- SVS PB-10NSD, ED, Velo, but I think you will be happy with the HSU.
