Received it on Friday and had only a little time to check it out so far, but the STF-2 has already bowled me over. Have tried various movies, specifically the saving Morpheus scene in Matrix, inside the Whale scene and Darla tapping on the tank scene in Finding Nemo and also LOTR-2 and Matrix 2. The SUB is exteremely impressive. First of all I didn't hear any kind of "flutter" whatsoever from the SUB that someone complained about here. And the volume is plenty, I kept the volume at 60% on the SUB and 0db on the receiver. I haven't done any kind of metering yet, just plug and play. I am yet to check out the SUB's performance with music.
I didn't do a side by side comparison, but I have had an Aperion 10" SUB and a Velodyne DLS9000 10" SUB at home and the STF-2 appears far superior in performance from what I "remember". The STF-2 is not just a good SUB for the price, it's a great SUB period! It's just that it's amazing that it's available in this price range.
More listening to do, more fun to have...
