View Full Version : Ventriloquist Wiring

I am soon to purchase my first home theater system.

I was looking at the Ventriloquist package, but I have 1 concern. It seems that this product wants the front left and right inputs to first got to the center speaker, then from there to the left/right speakers.

My home is already pre-wired for the surround sound, and I do not believe that I could easily make the wiring changes necessary to accommodate this wiring feature.

Would I be ok to order the Ventriloquist package, but upgrade the center speaker to the MK2? Would I get as good a sound doing this as using the Ventriloquist package wired the way it is supposed to be wired?

Or would I be better off to save my $ on the center speaker upgrade, get the standard Ventriloquist package, and suck it up and figure out how to get in the walls/ceilings to make the necessary wiring changes?

Thanks!

Hi Adam,

I don't recommend swapping out the VT-641 front center speaker for the HC-1 MK2 for use with the VT-254 satellite speakers up front. I would try to stick with either (2) VT-254 + (1) VT-641 up front, or (2) HB-1 MK2 + (1) HC-1 MK2 up front.

Can you run two extra sets of wire from the front left/right speaker outputs on the receiver to the left/right inputs on the VT-641 front center speaker?

Thanks

Sincerely,
