Hi! I’ve been visiting the site for a couple of months now and this is my first post. Couple months ago I emailed Dr. Hsu about Hsu packages. Based on my room size he suggested getting the enthusiast 3 package instead of the ultimate. I’m also interested with the mbm 12 sub. Base on the packages prices the ultimate is $1999.00 + $240 sh = $2239.00 including the mbm12 sub. The enthusiast 3 price is $1499 + $200 sh without the mbm 12 sub. So if I add the mbm 12 $450 (10 % discount) + $30 sh to the enthusiast 3 $1499 + $200 + $450 +$30 = $2179. The difference is $60.00 For $60 more I’m leaning towards the ultimate, but will the HO overpower my small room 13’ X 14’ X 7’ 11”? I’ll be using the speaker’s 75 % movies 25 % music. What do you think guys? I’ve to decide which one by Thursday. Give me your suggestion and why you're choosing it. Thanks in advance.

Get a quote for the enthusiast package with the MBM-12 or for the ultimate package with a VTF-3 Mk3 substituted for the VTF-3 HO. Actually ask for a price for each and go with the whatever is cheaper. :D HSU Research provided me with a better price for my configuration.

By the way, the HO won't "overpower" your small room. Buying it, though, is like purchasing a Ford F350 to tow a little trailer with a push mower. The HO will never be used to its maximum capabilities in your room. You will be spending money for little if any listening benefit.

First of all thanks for comment, it's highly appreciated. I'll give them a call on Thursday, this is the day I'll be receiving my Onkyo 905B after a month and half wait. I like your analogy. Reason a choose HSU Research speakers is, it's highly recommended and praised at AVS Forum. Peter is shipping included on the price of the package?

Hey ilongo,

Shipping is listed separately from the basic package price.

I don't think the HO will overpower your room. A single VTF-3 HO Turbo + MBM-12 with the HB/HC system would work quite well in your room!

Well, Santa is nice to me he’s sending me the ultimate package from Dr. HSU.:D
Estimated to arrive on Dec. 20. I can’t wait to hook it up with my 905 that came in today. The deciding factor that I choose the ultimate was the MBM 12. Thanks to all who gave me their input? Hope everybody gets the present they want. Merry Christmas.
