I am all new to this and needed some info. We recently did a room addition on our home and I wanted some opinions on what to buy for home theater. I like the speaker set on this sight and the sft 2 sub I think it is. I would like to know what receiver to match up to it, and is this package loud enough for my room. Room is square with a staircase going down one wall and the dimensions are as follows. 13 foot wide by 21 feet long with 12 foot cathederal ceilings. I had all my wiring done b-4 sheetrock was hung. So I am now ready for a system so I can hook it up and enjoy. Any and all comments or suggestions are appreciated.

The answer partially depends on your preferred volume levels. However, for a room that size, I might go for the STF-3. For the best answer, send a room diagram and measurements to Hsu, and they'll make some recommendations.

You have a wealth of options for receivers. It all depends on your budget and your personal prferences. Start with a Denon or Yamaha -- you can't go wrong. Purchase on-line for better pricing.

I got a HK 525 for $500 shipped. Harman sells on eBay under harmanaudio. They are refurbs, but come witht he full 2 year warranty. It retails for $1,000. Best deal at $500 and under if you ask me.

Im a die hard yamaha fan and would recommend that. I would suggest getting one from a high end store like tweeter if they have them where you live. They usually dump last years model at this time of year and you might be able to get a great deal on one. Heres a link

Yamaha RXV640 is a decent one for around that much
Also, I think HSU makes the best subs in the world and love their products(just got a STF-2 myself and It is awesome) but I wouldnt recommend the Ventriloquist , Ive heard them before and wasnt impressed at all. Probably a decent deal for the money, but if your gonna spend 500 on a reciever and then 399 or more on a sub, dont skimp on the mains, center or rears. Maybe try the small Boston Acoustics satelites and micro center just a suggestion. Good Luck and Merry Christmas
