Hi

Did anyone order a turbocharger in Canada? I got a quote from HSU for $380, landed cost. Looks amazingly high to me. I would like one but not for the nearly the double that it costs in the USA.

Anyone as experience to share with importing a turbocharger in Canada?

For me, it would be for a VTF-3 MK2

Hey WildThing,

If possible, it would probably be best to sell the -3 Mk2 and upgrade to -3 Mk3 to boost your deep bass performance.

Well, I tought that the turbocharger was a good low-cost upgrade. Upgrading to an MK3 is a big investment since there's no canadian distributor anymore.

I'll probably wait to see what my next upgrade gives. My home theater is in the basement on a concrete floor coverered with carpet.

I plan to do a subfloor (plywood over 2x3) covered with laminated flooring. The laminated flooring is more for the look but will it help more than carpet? My VTF-3 MK2 does a pretty good job but the bass doesn't travel enough in the room, there's more bass upstairs. My room is 14,5' wide x 19' long x 7,5 high.

Thanks

Hi Yanick,

Where are you currently placing your VTF-3 Mk2? If you haven't tried so already, try placing the subwoofer sideways directly behind your couch, or next to your couch in the nearfield.

Sincerely,

That's exactly where it is (Dr. Hsu recommendation when I bought it). I achieve max bass when sit on that couch but a lot of less when on the lazy-boy or stand up.

Try a front corner placement to provide good bass response at multiple seats...
