I was wondering if a VTF MKIII could be converted to an HO. Are the cabinents/porting/driver the same? Is the amp hole in the cabinent the same size and will HSU sell the parts to do an upgrade.

I think..
All the internals are the same...
You have to change the amp/driver combination only.

I think you would be wasting good money and not be satisfied with the outcome. While the HO has a bit more extreme low frequency SPLs, the MK3 is better balanced overall and could provide a better mid bass performance due to it's lighter cone construction. You would more likely need an MBM-12 with the HO than the MK3. Just a thought...

The VTF-3 HO is actually not very far behind in mid/upper bass output compared to VTF-3 Mk3. The sound is a bit smoother than the -3 Mk3, while the -3 Mk3 perhaps sounds a bit more punchy. The -3 HO is noticeably stronger and cleaner in the deepest bass, so in a system with MBM-12 and/or Turbo, it will definitely pull ahead. That said, I don't think we offer any swapping of amp/driver to go from -3 Mk3 to -3 HO. I suppose one could always sell the former to purchase the latter.

Sincerely,
