STF-1 auto-on sensitivity

my stf-1 does "auto-on" always. if i raise the volume is usually kicks in. is there a way to adjust the sensitivity on this?

Using:

Denon 5900 5.1 analog out to Arcam AVR350 in direct mode, so the Arcam does nothing, all the bass management is in the Denon 5900. I've set the Denon correctly to use the Sub of course.

Turn the volume knob on the sub down and turn the sub channel level on the receiver up. That should do it.
