Yep, another thread by Nick :D Sorry for all the threads and questions guys. I just want this to be right for me.
Here is what I have...
Livingroom is 15x20 with vaulted ceilings. The livingroom has an open floor plan that joins with the kitchen. The kitchen is 10x20 with standard 9' ceilings. I have a total of about 6000 cu ft. This system will be used for movies 90% of the time, and games the other 10%. No music, no CD's or anything like that. Just movies and games. As most of you know, I have the VTF3 MKII and it's just not cutting it for me in this new house that we have. I ordered the Turbo for the -3 MKII, and it didn't give me what I was looking for. So I'm looking to upgrade.
Components pushing this system are a Sherwood P-965 and an ATI 1505 amp.
I am going to order the VTF3 HO, and pair it up with the Turbo that I just received. I have decided that, and I am going to order it today. I want to do this right, and not waste anymore time trying to get exactly what I want. I am a bass junkie when I'm watching movies, and I want the best performance I can possibly have. I'm considering ordering the MBM, which brings me to the question, which is why I'm submitting this thread.
Should I...
A) Order the MBM with the VTF3 HO, and sell my VTF3 MKII
or
B) Do not buy the MBM. Keep the VTF3 MKII, and pair it up with the VTF3 HO
Looking for the best performance I can have with this sytem. And I just don't know if the VTF3 MKII will be better than the MBM when paired with the VFT3 HO with the Turbo.
I'm also going to call HSU when they open up, and get their advice. But I also wanted to ask you guys, and get your opinion.
Thanks,
Nick

I have the same space as you and I have the 3.3 Turbo with the MBM-12. They are placed nearfield; 3.3 Turbo at the end of the couch near the wall, right side; MBM-12 right behind the couch, and they are spaced approx 9 feet apart. When the bombs fall or the building explodes you feel it from the top of your head to your toes. Man, what an experience!

And pair it with the VTF-3 HO. Sell the VTF-3 MKII, they are holding their value very well and they sell fairly quick at Audiogon. The VTF-3 MKII's mid bass performance is no match to the MBM-12.

1) Get the VTF-3 HO first and run it with the VTF-3 MKII in a dual sub configuration for a week or two and see how you like it.
2) If you like that combo, then problem solved. But if you feel the mid bass impact can be improved, then sell the VTF-3 MKII and get the MBM-12.

Thanks for the replies guys!
After talking with Pete@HSU, I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet.
VTF3 HO and MBM are on their way to me. I already have the Turbo, so I'll mate the two up once the HO gets here.
This way, I'll have all 3 of them in my livingroom at the same time, and I can decide which configuration I like the best.
I'm excited!!!! :D Come on FedEx!!!! :D

Let me know if you decide to sell the VTF3 MKII.
Thanks,
