Just a warning.....

 I purchased the above sub about 6 monthes ago. Last evening, I decided to move it around my basement to test different locations. Of course, I moved it around with a movie playing and the lights dimmed (the only way to move the beast is to drag it from location to location). After performing my location tests, I turned my basement lights on.....only to find I now have 2 black racing strips all over my carpet!!!! It appears that when they painted the bottom of the sub cabinet, they also painted the support feet on the bottom of the sub....NOT GOOD!!!!!!

Just wanted to warn everyone else about this issue. I found a great sub location....too bad it will cost me about $100 to get my carpet cleaned. Dr Hsu...you may want to change "your paint on the feet" design.....or, sell wheels as an accessory item to move your subs.......

Any rubber, painted or not, dragged across carpet with nearly 100lbs of weight on top of it will mark carpet. The feet on my MKIII are not painted, they are just black rubber. The directions included with the sub show you a safe way to move the sub(putting a small piece of carpet under the sub and dragging it that way.) Sorry to hear that your carpet is marked, but it is no fault of HSU's manufacturing processes.

Wow, I just read my post and it sounds really rude. I dont mean for it to sound that way...I really hope you can get the stains up. Have a happy new year.

I 100% disagee with you. It has nothing to do with their "manufacturing processes." It has everything to do with product design, cost, and them NOT using a non-metallic material that will not mark your floor (carpet or hardwood) when you move the sub (i.e. non-marking exercise shoes scuffing up a gym floor). Whatever the material - rubber or paint, it shouldn't mark your floor - period.

If anything, Hsu should use my negative experiance and improve upon their product. If we have to place our subs on a peice of carpet everytime we want to move them, maybe Hsu should get into the carper business and include a peice with each sub.....or how about a crane.....

By the way, there are MANY different types of nonmetallic plastics/pvc materials that would be non-scuffing, temperature resistant that could be used in the manufacturing of these "sub feet." Hsu is probably just using what is cheapest or available to them......

Sounds to me like you are trying to blame someone else for your mistake.

You very well may be right in that a different design might have prevented your problem. The bad part is not only did you mark up your carpet but you took a chance of breaking the feet on the sub by not following the directions Hsu put in the manual.

Dang!! That's it I am not buying a HSU sub!!!!! :p

Maybe you should of wipe it down before using. Its always good to clean around, dust off and vacuum in the sub area. I think your being a little harsh. 100.00 to clean your carpet that probably only took maybe 18"x18" space --> you got screwed. You almost could of purchased another HSU sub ;)

Tip - clean it yourself. The idea is HOT WATER w/ diluted OXY Clean will get that mark out!! * And it will only cost you about 3-dolla and about 2 min of your hands and elbow/arm use.

From your screen name, you are a photographer? I have a friend in Austin that is a photographer.

I'm using a couple Auralex Accoustics "Subdudes" under my HO's:

http://www.auralexelite.com/products/product1.asp?id=26&bundle=

They're basically a stiff foam support for under the sub to decouple it from the floor. Granted, you still can't drag the sub around they room on them.

You can pick up some cheap plastic carpet slides to put under the rubber feet when wanting to slide the subs. They're made to move around heavy furniture.
