Last night, I finally got a chance to just sit down and watch a couple of movies with the new subs in place. Some of you know that I have not been unhappy with my bass, but IMO, it could have been a lot better. My room has been a challenge, and after last night, I think I'm finally getting it where I want.
Horror is my favorate type of movie, but I never seem to get a chance to watch one anymore. Last night was the first time in almost 2 months. Girlfriend absolutely HATES scary movies so I can't watch them when she's around :(
Anyhow, horror movies are always good for some deep bass. I started the night off with Halloween(Rob Zombie's version). I was impressed, I actually liked the movie. Not sure if it was because I haven't seen a horror movie for so long and I was going into withdraws, or if the movie was really that good. I'm not going to give away any of the movie in case someone hasn't seen it yet. But in my opinion, it's just a better, more updated version of the original. Bass in this movie was good, hit hard in some scenes, and made the movie more enjoyable. but there wasn't a ton of bass. Oh, and if you like boobies, this movie has some ;)
Then I moved on to the next movie, Pulse
Now this movie was kind of retarded. Not the movie itself, but the plot. Could of been done a lot better, but I sat through the entire thing and I wasn't unhappy about watching it.
Bass in this movie was absolutely amazing! I actually felt my hair vibrating  I had to open a closet door in the hallway, because it kept vibrating and making noise. I've been using U571 this entire time as my reference disk for bass scene's(depth charge scene). But I think I'm going to use Pulse from now on :D Now this isnt loud ear hurting bass, this is bass that actually pressurizes the room. When you can feel it in your head, but not hear it too loud, that is the bass I'm talking about. Just to give you an example, I put a Bic lighter on the counter that seperates the living room from the kitchen. I saw the lighter moving a little bit, but then it fell over and I was only at about 80-85db
I've still got some tweaking to do on the frequency response charts, but anything from this point on can only get better.
Thank you Dr HSU! :D
