Mixing Subs

What do you guys think about mixing subs?

Would mixing a VTF3-HO with an STF-1 ruin sonic benefits of the 3HO? (under the assumption the STF-1 does not provide as high a sound quality).

A better question may be when would you advise NOT mixing two sub woofers?

Generally results can be unpredictable when mixing and matching different subs. Sometimes people will get pleasant results, and sometimes not. If there are big differences in frequency response profiles, then it would normally be best not to mix different subs.

I match 3 different subs together.
VTF3 MKII
VTF3 HO
MBM-12

It's been great for me. Frequency response is good, and sounds AWESOME! But my room is different from yours, and your results may differ from mine. As Pete said, it's usually not a good idea to mix subs, but I got lucky :D
