Hello All,

I just received my VTF-2 today, and thought I would post my initial impressions.

To summarize, WOW!

A bit about my setup. The room is 15x24x8 for a volume of about 2900 ft^3. I was hoping the VTF-2 would be enough, and I can say I'm not dissappointed.:)
After setting the sub up and a bit of calibration, I was off. I auditioned a few scenes from various movies, it was more that I had hoped for. Great sound, plenty of SPL and extension. The volume knob on the sub is set at about a 9 o'clock position. I don't get how some people run multiple even more powerful subs. At times I felt like the Martians in Mars Attacks and thought my head was going to explode like a wet melon. In a good way though!

I then switched to music and cranked up some favorites, Roxy Music, Pink Floyd, Seal. It was like I had an entire new set of speakers, not just a sub. The sub just disappeared and blended in perfectly.

I really don't think I could be more satisfied with my purchase. I know the VTF-3 is grabbing lots of attention, but the VFT-2 is an excellent sub, and then some. Awesome.

Thanks for the great feedback Zip! Have you tried experimenting between max output and extended bass modes yet?

I briefly played between the two modes, but not enough to post any real impressions. I was to busy being overwhelmed by my new toy! I did do most of my listening in max output. Before I got a chance to do much in max extension, it was late, and for some reason the wife couldn't sleep with the bass rumbling the bedroom upstairs.

To really do it right, I think I need to re-calibrate the sub in max extension mode, and it just got to late.

I received my VTF-3 MK3 and have been enjoying it ever since. I use it in bass extension mode with system of Polk LSi speakers in 7.1. The sub makes the experience that much more amazing.

The bass is very deep and plenty loud. It integrates will my entire system whether for 2-channel stereo or for home theater. The supplied test CD was great! Very educational, too.

Thanks very much Dr. Hsu!

I tried playing arround with the two modes and found that the max output had a bit more "snap" to the bass. I listen more to music that movies so ymmv.

Dr. Hsu,

I have tried the two modes. The max mode certainly gets one's attention. But, in my room, the extended mode works better to my liking. I have a lower room mode at ~22hz, and I like the result better. Either way, the sub is very impressive and we really enjoy it for movies and music. My Polk LSi speaker work that much more effortlessly.
