Hi,

My room size is 10ft (ceilings) x 12 x 15. The room is pretty much enclosed, & carpeted.

I am mainly interested in music (90%) over movies.

I have (5) Ascend's CBM-170 SE Bookshelf Monitors, although I'm only using a Right, Left, & Center at this time.

I'm interested in clean tight punchy bass.

I want headroom and want to know if the VTF-1 is enough, or if the VTF-2 is overkill?

The price difference doesn't matter, I just want something musical & not boomy.

Thanks,
Angel

Welcome to the forum Angel!

I typically don't believe there is such thing as overkill :) Even in a small room, the VTF-2 Mk3 would offer notable performance improvements (deeper extension and higher output). That said, VTF-1 will work very well in that room. So if budget is tight, and smaller enclosure size is important too, then you can't go wrong with VTF-1 (or STF-2).

Sincerely,

Thanks for the speedy reply!

Looks like there is a VTF-2 Mk3 in my future!
