Hi. I was wondering what the optimum distance from a wall is for max volume under 30Hz. I know the manual says between 3" from the back, and a foot, but should you put the side right up against the wall, or does a certain distance cause a louder response at low frequencies? I've heard that the low frequencies come from the port, however, is there a port to wall distance that is better than others? I have my crossover set at 40hz since my mains roll off about there. Thanks!

You'll have to experiment with placement. You should also consider increasing your crossover and allowing the sub to handle the bass signal for at least 80 Hz and below. It will probably do a better job at it than your front speakers.
