I currently own a STF-2 and was thinking of adding a MBM. Ive heard great things about it. Ive had my eye on the mbm for awhile but ive been hearing more about the 2 MK 3 and the extra low end bass make want to upgrade the STF-2 before getting the mbm. And i can only afford to upgrade one at this time. If i buy the MBM now and want to upgrade the STF-2 later i would have to sell the STF-2 and there may be a gap with no sub before id get the 2 MK 3. If i get the 2 MK 3 i could sell the STF-2 and would almost be half way to buying the MBM. Choices choices.

Which would be a better addition the 2 MK 3 or the MBM? Would I get any improved mid-bass with the 2 MK 3 if i went that route? What are the pros and cons of either route?

Listening area = 2400 cu feet (including opening to kitchen)

thanks,
andrew

Andrew, I would probably start by upgrading to a VTF-2 Mk3. You can always add an MBM-12 further down the road. The -2 Mk3 will give you significantly higher output and deeper extension, and should be a significant improvement all around!
