I have my VTF-3R calibrated with both ports open @25 hz., but it seems (based on the recent poll) that most are plugging the one port / 20 hz.
My question is: Can I switch back and forth (if desired)from unplugged to plugged (along with flipping the switch) without having to recalibate or do any harm? or should I have calibrated with the port plugged, etc.
Thanks

As long as you flip the switch you will be fine.
The calibration will not be spot on if you calibrate for one mode, and use the other, but it will be close.
I use my VTF-3 with one port closed/20hz, and that it is how I calibrated it. Once in a while on a movie with some good LFE, that does not get down to 20hz, I open up the other port and flip the switch for more LFE experience.

If the calibration levels are about the same (same volume), and you open up the other port (which reduces the deep bass) how do you get more LFE experience? :D
If it does not get louder in max output mode, then wouldn't you have to turn up the juice somewhere to take advantage of the extra punch available?

Just by having it in max output mode it will be louder, which is why I calibrate in max extension mode.
