VT251 vs. VT254

My question is if the jumpers on the 2 posts on the VT251 are connected, is the speaker then identical to a VT254. I'm asking because my new receiver is 7.1 channel whereas my old receiver was 6.1 channels and I'm deciding how many VT254 I have to buy.

Yes, both speakers are the same if the jumpers are connected on the VT251. You only need to purchase one VT254 to go to 7.1.
