Folks, I think I know this but I'd appreciate your input to get this right.
I have a 2 channel integrated hybrid tube/ss rig driving my B&W 602 speakers. My tube amp has single speaker terminals, from which I am bi-wiring the 602s (using nice dedicated bi-wires).
The amp also has 2 sets of pre amp outs. I am running an STF-1 from the Left out jack of one of the preamp outs. I am running a mono subwoofer RCA cable from the preamp out jack to the LFE in jack of the sub. Of course the cross and volume are being controlled at the sub.
My question is, can I do the following instead to get a "stereo" signal to the sub:
Run a second set of regular speaker cables to the speaker level inputs of the sub, at the SAME TIME I am running the bi-wires to the mains? I would be disconnecting the LFE input of course. Note: I don't want to go amp-->sub-->speakers because my bi-wires are expensive and not the right length given my sub placement in the room.
Based on everything I've been reading on the board for the last hour, this should take care of my "stereo" issue and be a better solution for bass augmentation of these solid speakers.
Do I have this right? Thanks in advance, Paul
