I am finally going to purchase my sub in the next month or so and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the VTF-3Mk2. I wanted to ask the current forum members (who actually own a VTF-3) what their opinion of the current VTF-3 is versus the Paradigm Reference 15 and the James EMB-1000. I am pretty much decided on the HSU, but wanted to see if anyone has had the opportunity to directly compare their VTF-3 to either the Paradigm or the James. I'm willing to spend more than $800 on the sub, but unless their is a large difference in performance, I'd much rather save the money. Also, I am not willing to go for the TN's, as the WAF will definitely kick in with those.
Here's my evaluation criteria: I want the tightest, cleanest musical bass I can get with flat frequency response as close to 20HZ as possible with the best possible SPL level for home theater. I'm putting the sub in my new media room which measures 22x18 with an 8 foot ceiling.
