Sorry a little search function challenged

From the website FAQ it says

What recommendations do you have for receivers? Which ones work best with HSU subs?http://www.hsuresearch.com/Templates/icons/top.gif (http://www.hsuresearch.com/faq.html#top)
We found that Onkyo and Harmon/Kardon receivers work well with HSU Research subwoofers. This is due to the fact that these products have crossovers that satisfy Dr. Hsu’s strict requirements. There may be other receivers with similar features, such as Denon.

From a technical or spec standpoint what does the above mean. I know Dr. Hsu uses a 24 db/oct slope in his subwoofers but what should the receiver be?

Is it also 24 db/oct? What if the receiver's slope is 18 db/oct?

Are there certain types of speakers that aren't good fits with HSU subs because of their crossover slope?

Sorry for the questions, I'm sure its quite obvious to you that I'm a newbie.

Thanks!

I have an Onkyo 805 and it handles the HSU sub with perfect clarity.

Hi JP,

We've also had great results using a Pioneer VSX-1017TXV, which is a THX receiver that Dr. Hsu found online for ~$300.
