View Full Version : Standout Room - Hsu Research defined high-value home theater

Hsu Research defined high-value home theater with the Ventriloquist system. The speaker setup consists of five 2 1/2" full-range satellites, a three-driver two-way center-channel speaker, and a 8" powered subwoofer. The center-channel is unique in that it augments the bass response of the main speakers, acting as a second subwoofer. The result was outstanding -- none of the hole-in-the-middle sound some sub/sat systems exhibit. With clear vocals, and a punchy, dynamic quality, the soundtracks played came alive. The best part is the cost of the full Hsu 6.1-channel system: only $499. When paired with an Onkyo TX-SR501 receiver, a KLH KD-1220 DVD player, and Home Depot wiring, the entire system's price tag was just shy of $800.

Considering the glossy finish, they must be the MkII subs.

It appears that Dr. Hsu is laughing because they just finished watching the Robin Williams stand up comedy routine on the Stewart projector, with special low bass effects added for enhancement.

Oh and here I was thinking that he was just laughing at being asked the question -
When will we actually be available to buy those MK2's?
-LOL-
I really bet he hated answering that question every 5 min's.

Hsu Research brought their new VTF series subwoofers (VTF-2 and VTF-3) in cool glossy black piano finish and blue-lit logo

Funky lighted logos.
Are those real subs or a empty box with a light bulb in it?
Also, will those lights turn red when the amp reaches clipping?

I understand from reports that they come with a pair of fuzzy dice and a rear view mirror - just in case someone is sneaking up behind you?

That sticker on the VTF-2MKII looks like it is meant for display purposes....like a showroom floor.

So are you saying it will ship before the VTF-3 MK2? I do not think that anything about the VTF-2 MK2 schedule has officially been released by Hsu (besides what I have picked out of the CES reports)
Funny if the 2 beats the 3 out when the 3 has been announced since Aug/Sep last year.

No No......I just think that a sticker like that affirms the VTF's are going to be in showrooms.

They should look much nicer on the metal racking than the new line that CompUSA just picked up at CES. Bet this new line makes the top ten at CompUSA - LOL

This show special ($29.99 for the entire 5.1 system!) would have been a ShowStopper had it been available outside CES. The company, Forgings Ltd., had this and other low-priced powered surround systems for sale at the show.

Look out Audiosource!

Makes Audiosource seem like robbery. - LOL
You really have to have a good giggle at the whole market direction when you see stuff like that for $30.
Do you think Dr Hsu is quaking in his boots over their new line of $45 dedicated subwoofers.
