Mounting location

I've read that the best location for the speakers is on stands. I already have speaker mounts on my front wall for the L & R. I have a shelf for the center right above my TV. In the rear, because of the layout of my room, the only option is to hang all speakers from the ceiling.

Will the VT-12's still sound ok? Should I look at something else?

My room poses the same situation, and I would like to see an answer to your question.

In addition, I will have to mount the front satellites 10 feet apart. I will be sitting only about 10 feet from the center speaker. Will the Ventriloquist effect not work with this setup?

If the left and right speakers are widely separated, you can minimize the effect by angling them in toward the center.
