i list to a lot of music but the sub does not always come on.what would be the best way to set this up

I don't know if you can adjust this, but one way to deal with this is to increase the level coming from your preamplifier or receiver, and decrease the level control on your sub. The higher the input level, the quicker your sub will return from sleep mode.

I disabled both my VTF-2 and VTF-3 because of the same reason. I also hate missing the start as it comes out of sleep mode. Not all signals are strong and the period in between can find the sub going into sleep mode. It's a minor fault and a bypass gets you out of the problem.
