I believe the MBM comes with spikes, are there disk or something for us with hardwood floors?

Thanks,

Mine come with a spikes and a seperate set of rubber feet similar to the one on the 3.3. All you have to do is by the screws for it.

Also, use a piece of carpeting under the MBM-12 when on hardwood floors. It will sound a whole lot better!

Thanks Bill, would something like a carpeted door mat work or does it have to be a piece of deep pile carpet?

Also thanks for your reply on the MDM crossover thread.

Just a plain old carpet or door mat, something to cushion the wave. I used old carpet samples and spray painted them black.

Thsmith - I see from your sig that you'll be upgrading from a CSi30 to a CSi5. Can I ask if you will be selling your CSi30??

BTW, found this Forum while googling for a CSi30, so this is my first post here. I'm usually found over at AVS...

Thanks!

Could not find a CSi5 so went with CSiA6. I am keeping the CSi30 to piece together another system. I have had that center channel for 7 or 8 years and it works great but when I upgraded from book shelf Polks to the RTi8s I needed a bigger center.

Thanks for the clarification - I don't blame you for keeping your CSi30! ;) I actually just found a '30 on Craigslist, though on the other side of the country! Luckily the owner is willing to ship it to me, so I'm good to go...

I can relate to needing the bigger center speaker. When I upgraded to my CSi40, I still had my cherry RTi28s up front. Now I have RTi70s (also cherry) up front, and they work great together with my '40. Very happy with Polk products!

Enjoy your new gear!

I use Auralex Subdudes under my VTF-3HO's and MBM-12. They are a little expensive but worth the money:

How do you like these? Do they come with spikes for use on carpet? About how much $$ are they?

They use a firm acoustic foam under a hard base to isolate the subwoofer from the floor. I know it might sound strange, but they took away a lot of rattling in my room without taking away bass response.

I use two (2) Subdudes under each VTF-3HO. I took off the rubber feet under the sub to allow it to sit flat on the Subdude.

They're about $50.00 each.
