I have a H/K AVR 230 and need some speakers and a sub. I can accross the Ventriloquist system (and a STF-1 sub allin silver) and it looks like a nice system at a good price. The bummer is, I will not be able to hear these speakers/sub on my H/K before purchase. Other systems I've been looking at (Klipsch quintet and Athena 5 point MK II) I've been able to see, touch and HEAR!

If I get this system and don't like the sound - then what? I'm in MN and it's a long drive to Cali! (although some warm weather would be nice ...)

Can anyone give me some input on how this speaker system may sound on the H/K ?

Is there a page on this site that goes into the specs on the sats a bit more - I see the overall frequ. response is quoted, but not for the indiviual speakers...

thanks

johnnf

There is info on the VT speakers and STF subs here:

http://www.hsuresearch.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=248

The Ventriloquist system is designed so that it can be properly crossed over to the Hsu subs at about 80-100Hz. The center channel is what produces the lower mid bass, so that any bass hole from small satellite speakers is largely removed.

Think of this as a complete system, syngerstically designed and tuned and best when used with a sub.

Cool! I hope they sound 1/2 as good as everyone says!

Twice now I've almost called up HSU sales and switched my order to a VTf-2 sub and all black - since everything is backordered the vt-12 is free shipping and the vtf-2 sub has free shipping so the difeerence is only like $30 -

but then the vtf is loweer power but has teh Variable tuning...not that I'd probably use it too much... sigh... stf has nice BASH amps though....

Wish I could get both!!! anyone have comments on the vtf vs stf? I'm one that likes to set it and forget it... so I don;t think I'd muck with the vtf too much - so I thought the stf would do... But then I read on one of the forums that the stf are made in china and the vtf are hand made in California - not that it matters much to me, just seems as the vtf is holding it's value more than I thought it would (seeing then on ebay etc...) hope the stf hold up like the vtf...

I ramble too much - sorry...

:)

Jonny Baby!

Get the STf. Where it is made has nothing to do with quality.

Many BMW are made in the USA.
Do yourself a favor and place the order today.
I am out!
