Tech support was helpful and we found the problem. Apparently during shipping one of the wires inside the sub came loose (the red lead to the woofer). After reconnecting it, the sub worked fine. However, since I'm not comfortable not knowing how big a "drop" the sub took to jar the wire loose, I asked for a new replacement and they are sending it out this week.
