Hello all.

I use the VTF-3 MK3 in my 6.1 HT system, and I love it. However, my music system is seperate from my HT system, and is currently a 2-speaker stereo system. I am considering turning my music system into a 6.1 surround system by buying the 6 Ventriloquist speakers, and a HT receiver with Dolby PLIIx.

If anyone utilizes the 6 Ventriloquists for their music system, I would appreciate hearing from you regarding how satisfied you are with them.
I would also like feedback regarding how enjoyable listening to music via Dolby PLIIx is, and how closely it mimics true 6-channel music, such as DVD Audio.

Thank you, and blessings to you, because "God is love." 1 John 4:8,16

Hi Bob, I use to have the VT-12. It is good for music and movies. It truly is an amazing system for the money. If you have a small room, I'd say go for it. The center channel speaker makes all the difference in the world by providing the middle bass. I moved up to the Enthusiast 2 system and am liking that also. As far as DPLIIx, I preferred the all channel stereo mode to that. It's a matter of tast whatever you choose. With the new system, I will experiment to see how they sound with the different listening modes.

In my own experience with CD audio with my 7.1 setup, I found Dolby PLiix good but after some experimentation DTS' Neo:6 (http://www.dtsonline.com/consumer/technology/at-a-glance-details.php?ID=1996020590&glanceID=Overview)actually sounded better and more balanced to me. It really comes down to personal preference, and with modern receivers there are a bunch of options.

I've had the VT-12s for couple of years now. Mostly for HT and concert dvds but some music too. I've been very happy with the speakers. I don't use the rear center but I'm sure it couldn't hurt anything. I have changed out the mains because I got a killer deal on a pair of Polk LSI 15. I still use the HSU center and surrounds with a 125 watt amp and they rock.
What have you got to lose? Get them and if you're not happy you have 30 days to return them.
