I am new to this forum. I have been looking for my first good reliable sub to add to my system (Adcom GFA-7705, Pioneer Elite SC-07). I am debating on getting the VTF-MK 3 but recently came across the Definitive Technology Supercube II. Has anyone had the chance of doing a comparison between these two? I have read other comparisons on other sites but would like some opinions from actual users and those who are currently searching.
Obviously, I do not live anywhere near HSU Research and cannot hear the VTF-MK 3 for myself. I would appreciate any unbiased input from anyone on this forum.
Thanks.:)

Are you referring to the VTF-3 MK 3 or the VTF-2 MK 3?

I was referring to the VTF 3 Mk 3 but the VTF 2 Mk 3 would also apply as I am looking at both - depending on budget.

I can safely say that coming from my last two subs being part of an Onkyo HTIB setup...
The VTF2-MK3 sounds awesome and provides awesome lows and a huge impact to my HT setup. I use it for 100% HT so I cannot comment as far as music listening.
Everybody that hears it, including me, are extremely impressed with the sound that comes out of the black box in the corner. :)

Canadianboy, the VTF2 and especially VTF3 will have much more low frequency extension than any of the supercube subs. I think they would be comparable in the midbass area, above 40 hz, but once you go below 30 hz and especially 25 hz, the Hsu will dominate. The only really respectable sub Deftech has is the Trinity, but that costs $3k MSRP. It is, however, one of the very few brick-and-mortar subs that has true deep bass extension.

Thanks for the feedback! I have been reading other sites and forums and others have stated that the VTF 2 MK 3 and the VTF 3 MK 3 both perform better than the Supercube II. In fact a few people seem to NOT believe the measurements given by Definitive Tech on their subs.
I have read plenty of reviews for HSU subs and am greatly impressed. :D I am hoping for a few more comments and opinions of those who own HSU subs for I do not know anyone near by who owns one - though I have a friend who has HSU's smallest speakers paired with a different sub. I am currently finishing a room for a "man-cave" and, depending on left over budget, will be purchasing a sub. Looks like it will be the VTF 2-MK3.
