So, my wife and I had a couple over for dinner. He and I both had some Klipsch 10" subs, but, I have recently upgraded to the STF3. So, to show him how a real sub sounds my sons and I selected some demo material. Purposely saving the "Darla" scene for last.

By the time we got to it, my buddy's wife (in raised voice) says "Can this be the last scene please?!". She was out in the kitchen talking with my wife and my wife agreed "Yes, all of the utensils out here are shaking".

So unfortunatley, while my buddy was VERY impressed and ready to start shopping -- I may have given his wife even more ammo against him because she did not like the feeling of those pulsing low frequencies.

WHOOOPS!

Once, I was trying to take some measurements from the sub in the middle of the night while the spouse is asleep, so I kept tone to as short duration as possible duration (A-B repeat of hz tone that lasts as fast as I can press the A-B repeat button twice (approx 1/4 sec with 1/2 sec delay in between). The level was constantly adjusted from a low of probably 80dB to the level the amp clipped. It didn't sound loud because the nature of the 20hz signal, so I continued on. After a while, my wife wakes up and tells me because she constantly felt the room buzz and vibrate in short bursts and it was driving her crazy. And she was in a closed room 2 floors up.

So I only go to the extreme when she is not around, such as when I was showing my center point along length of wall placed sub's capability and cranked a 17hz sine wave to 110dB, my friend said he doesn't hear anything, so I brought him to a partition wall and told him put his hand there. He was shocked to feel the wall pulsate so violently.
