Went to look at the STF-2 at CompUsa today and the price has been raised to $399. It appears the price change happened last night. I should have bought it earlier in the week. :(

$399 is still a screaming deal for a sub this good...
I would, if in your position, order direct from this site... 30 day guarantee, and Factory Fresh... :)

Shipping and taxes are virtually the same. If I buy at CompUsa I don't have to pay to ship it back if something is wrong with it.

But you do have to pay a 15% restocking fee on openned items - at least according to a CompUSA receipt on my desk. Depends whether return shipping costs more than the $60 restocking fee.

You are out the sales tax whether there is a problem or not...

By something wrong with it I meant defective. I don't think they charge you 15% to return a broken item.

I'd only lose the tax from the 15% restock fee all the rest is refunded.
Shipping on the other hand is all gone.

But, I'd get 85% of the tax back. So, shipping two ways is a little over a $10-15 difference and that's only if I can get shipping as low as Hsu.

If you do an even exchange on a defective unit at compusa there is no charge at all.
Of course you don't always have to ship the unit back to HSU either, sometimes (if you want) they will ship the parts out to you.
