Hello All;
I have been reading about the MBM-12 Mid Sub for hours and need some advise from the people that own them. First a little about my set up, I have an Anthem Statement D2v, 142" 2:35 Black Diamond Screen, Paradigm S8 mains with Paradigm ADP590 surrounds, Paradigm C5 center and two Paradigm 15" Servo subs with two Anthem MCA 50 amps biamped across the fronts.
I have been trying my subs at several locations for a long time now with both of them stacked behind my chair being the best so far, I get a good kick with loud music with them there. I am aware that the mid point of both walls should be the best place but I don't get that kick when they are there. I have rebuilt my room to 16'X21'X7' high to try and get better sound, I have placed acoustic panels at the first reflection points and have 6" bass traps that will be up soon. The room has one door that I close for critcal listening and I have this beam going across the ceiling at mid point from side wall to side wall, it dips down 10" from the ceiling and is 27" wide I thought this was what caused me such a problem getting my sound right. Anyhow, I figure maybe I need more sound pressure as I like my music really loud and stacking the subs directly behind me gives me the kick but the bass seems like it is one tone. Question is do I purchase two more Paradigm 15" Servos or should I go with two MBM-12s because of that kick I desire?
