Hi, just got myself a used VTF-2 recently, which I believed is the original version with filter ranged from 80-125 Hz, instead of the upgraded version with 30-90Hz. As this is my very first venture into the sub domain, I have a few questions and hope some forumers here can help me out...

1. Low level input: Instead of a subwoofer input, this sub comes with a pair of L/R rca inputs. I am running a pair of interconnect from the pre-out of my stereo amp right now. However, I would like to know if it is ok to run a single cable with Y-spliters at both ends? This would allow me to save some money if I were to place the sub far away at the back of my sofa...

2. Specs: Anyone know if the general specs of this sub is the same as the upgraded version (ie. freq response, amp wattage, etc.)? Could not find much info from the web with most of them refering to the upgraded version.

3. I played a test CD with test tones starting from 25Hz. However, I could not hear anything until around 30Hz and up. Why is this so as most users/reviews have said it produces pretty flat response down to 25Hz? (I tested it with one port plugged and setting to 25 Hz).

Anyway, while I am still fine tuning and integrating it to my system, I am already enjoying the additional punch and foundation added to the sound. The improvement is not night and day but is apparent when the music asked for it... A happy Hsu owner here. Cheers!
